Top Ten Lists

I spent some time re-reading my posts from last March's SOLSC yesterday.  An enjoyable trip down memory lane which gave me my inspiration for today's post - a reprise of my Love and Hate lists (I will try not to repeat myself from last year):

Ten Things I Hate:

1.  The "ME FIRST, WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME" attitude adopted by so much of the world these days.
2. Cars which don't see the need to stop at STOP signs
3. Bicyclists who don't see the need to stop at STOP signs.
4. Snoring
5. Having no friends
6. Tapioca pudding
7. Parents who continue to park in staff parking lots to pick up or drop off kids
despite repeated requests to cease and desist
8. Being cold
9. The fear that drives the conflict between nations
10. Watching my parents age

Ten Things I Love:
1.  Navy blue
2.  Elephants
3.  Family movie nights
4.  Robert Frost, Henry David Thoreau, Mark Twain, Walt Whitman
5. Poetry
6. Silence
7. The smell of the desert after a rain
8. A favorite t-shirt
9. Exercising - yep, I really do - and am missing it at present
10. Being near the ocean

Quote of the day:  Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw
all the paint on it you can.   ~Danny Kaye

  1. I guess I am going to have to confess, when I bike I don't stop at all the stop signs if there is no traffic. I also love tapioca, I love those little balls floating around in my mouth. Yum! I'm afraid exercise would be on my hate list. Can we still be blog friends?

    1. Elsie - this cracked me up!!! Thanks, and yes, of course - I so look forward to hearing from you and reading your posts. I figured many things on my list would not jive with everyone - but to each his own. Thanks for the comment.

  2. Ohhhh, the ocean. I miss it so much now that we have moved to Texas! And not just any ocean, although I'll take whatever I can get, but the Atlantic Ocean when you're at Bethany Beach. I can't wait until summer!

  3. Your #7 on the hate list and #10 on the love list are on my lists, too! But, I haven't given up on Tapioca pudding...yet!

  5. I had kind of a stressful day and love the list!! I love tapioca pudding--but have turned vegan for awhile and will have to try it with Silk or rice milk.

  6. What a great idea! This is one of the first things we do in my classroom - helps the kids see there are topics everywhere.
I have to say I love tapioca and the ocean - but hate that attitude of your no.1!
