Civil Disobedience

Some valuable things we discussed in class today included:

     Friendship                                       bullying

                    conflict resolution                              survival
          life goals                                 death
                                            perseverance                                    happiness

homelessness                   empathy
                                                                                 compassion
                war                     understanding

• • • all of which kept the entire class engaged, motivated, curious
• • • all of which led to deep thinking, long moments of thought-filled silence, wonderings, lively
           conversation, connections of all sorts
• • • all within the context of math, reading, writing and social studies

• • • NONE OF WHICH will be tested on the #$%**! SBA test that follows next week's Spring Break.

I think we used our time wisely today.

Quote of the day:  Never do anything against conscience, even if the state demands it.
                                                                                           ~Albert Einstein

  3. Good for you! I know your kids got much more out of today's lesson than they would have with test prep. Sometime soon people must realize that there is more to education than a standardized test score. I hope it comes soon enough.

  4. I'm sure they will remember what they learned today much longer than the test material! Good job!
