Ten Things...

Ten Things I hate:

1.  Unloading the dishwasher
2.  Being cold
3.  Fighting
4.  A teenager with an attitude
5.  Rude, disrespectful, impolite people
6.  Having a dairy allergy
7.  Getting no comments on my daily slice of life post
8.  Being sick
9.  Not getting paid enough
10. Spring yard work

Ten Things I love:

1.  Mocha chip ice cream (now if they just made it in soy)
2.  A soft bed and warm blanket
3.  Summer
4.  Reading, reading, reading
5.  An ice cold imported beer
6.  Dinner out, good music, good drink, good company
7.  My dog, Kona
8.  My family - immediate and extended
9.  Folk music
10. Making art

Quote for the day:  Anyone can carry his burden, however hard, until nightfall.
Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day.
Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely,
          till the sun goes down.
And this is all life really means.
                                                                        ~Robert Louis Stevenson

  3. I love 9 of your 10 things. I know nothing about folk music. I used to love folk dancing at primary school. (Maybe I do know something about folk music). The gay-gordons was one of my favourite dances.

  4. I love this idea! :) I, too, hate not getting paid enough, no comments, rude people, and being sick! I agree with your love of family, a soft, warm bed, dinner out, summer, and reading. I think I might try this post out today! ;)

  5. One thing I hate more than a teenager with an attitude- two teenagers with attitudes. Ganging up on me! What kind of dog do you have?

  6. I would say that both lists could also be lists for slices. Art and folk dancing made me curious. I wouldn't mind reading how you deal with the teenager's attitude. Then again the best writing comes from the topics and issues that matter to you the most. Would writing make to the second list if it were longer?

  7. I love this idea. I may have to copy the idea and generate my own list. Number 7 on the hte list rings true as does numbers 4, 7, and 10 on the love list. I am also glad to be betongd the teenage years.

  8. I use this activity with my students. We create love it and loathe it lists -- and each lend itself to another writing!

  10. I share your feeling for quite a few items on both lists. 2 and5 top your hate list and of course family and summer because it's warm! Great lists... I may do this as well one day thanks!

  11. These two lists are great...I am amazed to see so many similarities in our lists!! (I, too, can't do milk - but if I could, mocha chip would be front and center!) It would be fun to make a top ten list with my preschoolers....
